How bizarre....

I'd like to retro fit the chrome twin H7 units as I'm disappointed with the performance of my monte lights....

Would be interested to know whether that could be done.

@sk4gw: That;s what the mechanic who was doing it said, he actaully came out half way through doing it and explained what he was doing and he mentioned that above.

@Steevie wonder; I've done that but the in reverse lol. With mine he had to add wiring loom, but I'm sure he said it's ok to do it the way you want to.

Hello,

I'm new to this forum so sorry to revive an old thread.

I'm currently sat in a skoda dealership with my car in bits and technicians trying to sort out this issue as I'm trying to get the black headlights retrofitted to my 60 plate fabia vRs.

@Naths vRS what wiring loom was it that was used in yours??? Rainworth Skoda where I am have no idea about it and derby won't give me any info.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi BTSvRS.

I have replied to your private message, tell them to ask to speak to a mechanic over in Farmers Skoda in Leicestershire (Groby Road) can't remember the chaps name but it was them who did it.

Forgot to say this is on the VRS.

The light on the dash comes on for me too, just doesn't flash (while on drl's/sidelights).

same as mine as well and they cant find the fault so theywant it for the day

Only on Projector Lights, the Wife's MkII Vrs has a separate Main Beam, (60Plate)

The VRS has projector lights.

Its the black lights that have the movable part to change the beam

Give it them for the day mate, it'll all be done under warrenty, the mechanic who done mine told me he;ll have to re-call the others that have had it done, so get it in there!

Well would u adam and eve it at last they phoned skoda leicester to fix the lights and she has come back to me to say it will take 8 hrs and a lot of work with rewiring and looms, how much of this is true i dont know, so they want to put the old style lights back on, im so ****ed about this, so i might have to bite the bullet, and get the new ones flyeyed.

haha. Ring them back and tell them it doesn't take 8hrs. Takes bit of re-wiring yes. But it does work. Ring skoda in leicester and ask if you can take your car there.

Hi Nath, too late mate new lights on now no worrys though going to get them flyeyed anyway the old set had a slight crack must have been from a stone chip, but flyeye the way to go i think, cheers mate for all your help.

I would use Spi Vision instead of fly eyes if I were you. IMO it's a far superior product!

Hi btsvrs, yes mate agree thats the way im going to spi vision, cheers.

So its not as simple as just switching over the light units to change to retrofit the black lamps?

Top man. If you're near Nottingham, get up to giltbrook , mint car enhancements are brilliant to deal with!

I really don't know why everyone is having problems lol.

how come you aren't happy with you monte lights? My OEM are fairly bright but getting an HID kit so will be even better, don't see any problems with them? Maybe a personal preference?

Many say they arent pleased with the montes as they can come badly adjusted.

However, once they've had the levels set correctly, they are better.

I dont see his they could be as good as the silver lights though tbh.
