Shiney bling on the fascia

Featured Replies

Now we've had a bit of sunshine :giggle: , we've noticed an annoying twinkle from the radio trim area when the sunlight reflects of the shiney chrome finish. Out of the corner of the eye, it could be a warning light, or something and is very distracting.

Anyone else recognise this, or is there a way of de-blinging the fashia of the chromey bits?

I'd much rather a non reflective interior (matt black) so as there will be no intrusive distractions to watching the road ahead.

Perhaps I've been brought up to watch the road and not play with the toys on modern cars - roll on the dull winter days.

I find the chrome Skoda "grille" on the MF sterring wheel even more of an issue when the sun shines on it (remember the sun?!!!) It can be most annoying, but I'm afraid the car interior would not be appreciated by the motoring press without the various bright bits..... "another dull car interior... all grey and black" I can hear them saying!

Since still waiting for our Yeti, can't tell if it is (will be) a problem in sunlight but from pictures the (almost) only detail I dislike in Yeti's interior is the big shiny "grin" on the steering wheel... Too BLING, thank You very much! :wonder:

The bit that annoys us is the lower left hand corner of the chrome trim around the buttons on the radio.

I'm going to try a CD marking pen and masking tape to see if I can blacken the bling and stop the tiresome reflection.

Have any of you tried adjusting the seat up/down or back/forward just a little. I think this must be a personal thing affecting only a few individuals, I've never noticed any reflection off anything on the fascia, maybe height has something to do with it, I'm 6' 2".

Hmmm.. why not!

:)

I see an annoying reflection into the drivers door mirror from the chrome trim on the air vent flap so have covered with a bit of insulation tape. not a good look for a new car.

Must be a Skoda thing cos my previous L&K Octy really bugged me, the light switch reflected at night into the door mirror. Should have been identified in pre production.

Stop moaning and be thankful for some sunshine.

I only asked

It is a annoying "feature", which some have recognised. Not major, just a niggle.

Never mind, I'll keep my observations to myself.

Please notice the ;) on my response. :)

Have you tried folding them out so you can see the traffic behind. :giggle:
