Problem with keyfob

Featured Replies

Basically my unlock button on my fob has stopped working. The lock button and boot realise button still work as normall

Had some advice to disconnect the battery and reconnect

Anyone else got any ideas?

Jake

Do you have a spare keyfob-key? Two were supplied with cars from new. You can get another keyfob back-end off eBay, make sure you get the right model number! Though you then have a problem coding it to the alarm (easy enough if you have two actual keys).

You can still use the key in the door lock to lock/unlock but the alarm will probably go off unless you quickly put the key in the ignition.

There are instructions floating around the web for disassembly of the keys.

Buy a genuine (used/new) fob from ebay, remove the PCB and swap it over, p/n isn't that relevant from experience as long as the correct number of buttons are present i've had no problem even down to the frequency being different, and do as described above, worked for me on the Leon and Audi.
