Placing my order for Yeti SE 1.2 DSG

Featured Replies

hello everybody. I am just about to place an order with my local Skoda dealer for a new Yeti SE 1.2 DSG.

Very impressed - but just a few questions some kind people might be able to help me with.

How much a a discount should I expect on a cash purchase?

The list price is £18,225, and I have been offered a £1,000 discount on that price.

Is this reasonable?

I am ordering it at the beginning of July 2012 and I have been told that the delivery should be October or early November. Is that realistic?

Although the reviews are generally favourable - there is one (WHATCAR?) that describes the ride as " There is too much wind noise and the ride is jiggly". Now I have test driven the car - but only round town and at speads under 40mph.

So - to those who actually own the car - is the 'jiggly' assessment true?

it also says the ther seats are difficult to remove.

I own a SEAT with a 1.2 DSG at the moment - and I like it - except that it is too small . . . The Yeti is larger and heavier . . . is it underpowered ?

Thanks in advance to all who reply.

Welcome. Have a look around the Yeti section.

If you don't need DSG then I would recommend the Urban, which is very good value.

With regards to the jiggly ride, I find it somewhat jiggly especially around town but I came from an Audi A6. If you are happy about the comfort level around town then it get no worse on the motorway or B road.

If comfort is important to you, then definitely take it on the motorway and see what you think about the noise or ride.

Hi and Welcome

I find the ride is OK for me. Ask your dealer for a longer test drive to include faster roads. After all. you are spending a fair amount of cash. There is some wind/road niose, but a lot of it is down to the Yetis bluff shape and the condition of the road surface.

The seats are easy enough to takeout and put back, the trouble comes with their weight. Would suggest that you try it for yourself at the dealers
