Guys my octavia 1 has got old as well as its steering...so was thinking whether i can upgrade ma steering to mk2 octavia rs's or mk2 fabia rs's....is it possible??wat r my other options??can i fix r32 golf steering???

Not so sure about that. It would be a big job i would imagine and as you said the car is old. Is it reallybworth it? If the steering is posing a threat to yourbsafety then maybee, but if not id stay well away and you might and up having to change the hubs for the track rod ends, as the golf ones may not fit

If so, you can replace your steering wheel and airbag with any steering wheel from any Golf mk.4 car, such as an R32 or S3

It is possible to fit a mk.5 Golf steering wheel, getting extra buttons and controls to work is not straight forward.

thanx for ur input guys..snow muncher can u be a bit more specific regarding mk5 steering wheel??is it a strait swap or will i have to do some kind of modification to the steering wheel in order to mount it apart from airbag???i've heard tat airbag has to be modded inorder to make it work...and is it possible to find mk4 r32 steering wheel??if yes from wer

I think what snow muncher means is it is a bit of a ball ache to get the controls on the steering wheel to work from the mk5 as it would possibly need extra wiring or vcds to enable them to work, i suspect both. Any mk4 platform on the golf wheel would work as he said

thnx...am not intrstd in making the switchs work....its ok if it wont work..my only concern is abt the airbag and horn!!

Im not sure the airbag would be compable, thats if you intend on connecting it up.
