Decisions . . . decisions . . . decisions ! Help

I was on the verge of placing my order for the Yeti (DSG) and then today when I check the Skoda website I discover that DSG models are now included in the 'No VAT" offer. Up to 30th June they were excluded for all cars except the soon to be obsolete Octavia. No its pretty much No VAT on everything - EXCEPT the Yeti . . . nothing there at all.

Dealer rang me this morning to ask me if I was ready to order the Yeti . . . . I said, I will let you know tomorrow.

Good friend of mine bought a Fabia Estate DSG last year and is impressed with it - only thing is he complains of wind and road noise. It also seems a bit 'tinny' - less 'clunky' and solid than the Yeti . . . like when you close the doors.

So . . . . had been thinking of the Skoda Fabia DSG Estate (Elegance) . . . which now would cost me under £13,000.

Also its available in Yellow - which is the colour my wife prefers. Our deal has always been - I get the choose the car - she chooses the colour. (My view of yellow cars is probably much the same as yours  )

Any comments?

If the seating and rear luggage space suits you i would suggest you go for the Yeti.

Look closely at the Sills for getting in and out tho,

they are pretty wide and get dirty which might annoy you or passengers.

I drove one for a week and thought i would end up with a DVT with the battering my shin was getting.

Have you seen Roomster? If you don't like Roomster then go for Fabia estate, especially if Yeti is not a 4X4 one.

We have a Yeti and two Fabia Mk II's (Elegance and a 1). The Yeti is by far the better vehicle in terms of fit, finish, ride, handling and quietness on the road. If your budget will cover getting a Yeti then I would go that route. Also remember the Fabia II is coming to the end of the line, whereas the Yeti is only due a mid life face-lift in the near future, to introduce the new corporate look.

As above the little fabia is the cash cow for skoda everything above the fabia is better all round, build and fit is superior in the rest of the range IMO

I would like to save the money . . . but then I feel every time I climb into the Fabia I would have a feeling "Wish id got the Yeti".

That's very helpful. Test drove both of them. When you shut the door of the Yeti it just feels solid and clunky which I like.

I'm just having the awful guilt feeling I get (must be because I was born and bred in the north!) whenever I spend more money than I need to spend!
