Hi all,

At some point I'm going to be replacing my current voided bushes with S3 ones (they're probably near getting sloppy and it's not something I want to have to keep replacing as voided bushes are stupid and each time it needs an alignment doing) and I have a couple of questions re it. I've told my insurer on my renewal this morning so it's covered there (didn't affect the premium at all) so I just need to actually sort it out.

1. Can you get the bush on it's own or do you need to get it with the console?

2. If it does come with the console will that just bolt straight on or are the holes in different places?

3. Re point 2, if it's the latter then I take it you can just press the bushes out of the S3 consoles and into the VRS consoles?

4. Part no wise, is it 2 of these - "8J0407183 DE" ?

5. Are these S3 or TT bushes we're dealing with here? I'd have though the S3 ones would have been the proper non voided ones, TT the middle ground and VRS the soggy useless ones?

I've got some solid TT consoles which I've pressed out ready to press into my vrs consoles. I'm not sure about the S3 consoles but the TT ones cannot be straight swapped.

Yeah I've read that one thanks. There was a bit of unanswered confusion over TT/ S3 though, although I think it did say that you can't get the bushes on their own - they have to come with the consoles.

If TT ones are solid yet cannot be straight swapped due to the holes not being right I assume S3 ones are voided and (as the A3 is practically identical underneath) can be?

Looking at ETKA now it looks like these things are £52 each inc VAT. Not that cheap considering all you need is the bush not the whole thing, :(

The Powerflex ones are much cheaper..... £29 inc VAT as you're not having to buy the bracket too.....

In oz they sell the alloy 's3' arm with all the bushes for £360 a pair! Still not as far as I'm aware available here though :(
