Superb TDI CR Fuel in oil

Featured Replies

I am from NZ and have a 2009 Superb 2.0 TDI CR 103kw, it has has on going issues with surging , usually after a long trip and up a hill. Skoda have replaced turbo , injectors and seals, fuel pump and a DPF sensor. Still not fixed, apparently this problem has been fixed before by a head replacement. The tell tale sign is that the oil level is increasing over time, The dealers have to do more before a head replacement is authorised, Has anyone heard of this problem before, surley there cant be to many things that would allow fuel into the oil?? This problem must have occured somewhere around the world before?

Thanks

Tale it somewhere else bud, what you describe is classic tandem pump leakage.

Agreed - it has been seen quite often before on those engines. Remember to get the entire fuel system cleaned (including the tank) after replacement.

The tandem pump has been replaced

Then it might be the head - that has also been seen before :)

My knowledge is limited to what a VX service manager told me about my previous car (Vectra). You can get diesel in to your oil through an active DPF regeneration (where the ECU alters the fuel mix to create exhaust temperature necessary for regeneration). This cost me an early oil change last summer when too many failed regeneration attempts (basically switching engine off half way through cycle) clogged the DPF and switched on the warning light. I was told that as more fuel is injected to create the high temps it is not all burned and some seeps down the cylinder bore, into the sump. A little diesel won't bother it but too much can be disastrous!!!From what I was told the increasing oil level is the danger sign. I would get them to check the DPF and sensors, and change the oil. If you're doing long trips these should be sufficient for a passive DPF regen.

I had the same problem as above with my Mondeo 2.2TDI, it ended up getting an ECU upgrade before the problem was solved. By the time Ford figured out what the problem was i hated the car and had decided to get rid of it best thing i did as i bought a Skoda Superb after the Mondeo . I had 6 oil change in 7000 miles over 18 months.
