Bluetooth 5K0 035 730 E?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Can anyone confirm what features the 5K0 035 730 E bluetooth modules have and what compatibility they have? (i.e. rSAP, media streaming, etc.)

I've searched this forum, the net and Ross Tech, but found very little reference to these specific modules.

Is it an update to 5N0 035 730 D (from a different VAG car hence 5K0 - Scirocco?) which everyone on here seems to recommend as the module of choice?

Does 5K0 035 730 D have the same functionality as the 5N0 035 730 D part?

I have a pre-FL Octavia with a recent CAN upgrade (as I retro fitted a Columbus), only have the standard display but do have a wiper stalk with the toggle on the end (if that makes any difference). There is a possibility I might upgrade to Maxidot in the future and might fit a MFSW so compatibility with these would be great if possible.

Thanks for any info.

I retrofitted a 5K0 035 730 E in my 2011 FL Fabia II with Maxidot and two button stalk (no MFSW).

It does both rSAP and HFP, Phonebook download in both modes, A2DP Bluetooth Streaming. It either does no SMS sending/receiving or I just haven't got that turned on (don't really want it tbh). Integrates with my Columbus and Maxidot just fine, browse phonebook and dial numbers in both, got some favourites for one click dialling on the Columbus. My old HTC Desire Z running Cyanogenmod would display track names on the Columbus over A2DP too. My new HTC One X does not (nor do any of the other phones I have tried). Also 20% of the time on my One X a phone call would go through on Speakerphone rather than Bluetooth. But all of the other phones I have tried are 100% reliable. Sound quality is excellent, convenience is excellent. I have my HTC One X, wifes HTC Desire Z (stock firmware), dads ZTE Blade and a spare Nokia basic £20 phone all paired up and it handles juggling between them perfectly.

It is an excellent unit, highly recommended.

Oh, just to add - before I had coded the Bluetooth correctly it (obviously) did not appear on my Maxidot menu, but it did however work just fine through the Columbus. All the regular stuff is all available through the Columbus, answering calls, browsing phonebook, call log and making calls. But without Maxidot you can't change settings such as managing paired phones/devices, enabling and disabling A2DP, renaming the bluetooth device name and changing the ringtone.

Thanks for all the info Hussein. Much appreciated.

I'm still looking around to find the best module for my car: no Maxidot (but might retro fit it to pre-FL car) and June 2010 Columbus.

I need to consider my phone (an iPhone 3Gs at the moment, but might change it at some point) and what I want to do.

I don't really need media streaming as I have MDI and am not too bothered about text messages appearing (but might find it interesting occasionally).

Based upon this, does anyone have any suggestions for which modules to look out for?

OK. So I got a 7P6 035 730 E unit used off eBay and it seems to be fine when I've tested it.

Although I have not fully installed it as I am going to combine the MDI cables and the BT into one loom behind the HU. That way I won't have to many looms back there and should still be able to retain the CD changer in the boot (I can hear the cries of 'Why?' already).

Nice one. Just thought I'd note on here that now my HTC One X is not running the standard software (Cyanogenmod Nightly ICS), the Bluetooth connection to the car is now 100% reliable on it.
