Removing the heated seat switch?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm considering getting an in-dash cup holder, but on a dry run removing the relevant dash bits today I couldn't for the life of me work out how you remove the heated seat switch?

Can anyone help? I've got as far as the picture but I know there's another screw behind the switch!

Thanks,

It will help if you remove the long bit of trim below the switch.

Hopefully that will help.

Not got the heated seats myself so not sure if there are any other screws etc.

But the ASR and heated window switch have "retaining arms" which can be wriggled free

Damn...the radio trim will need removal of the radio itself :( I need to get my hands on some Sony radio removal keys...anyone? I tried to remove the other switches but they weren't interested in moving...

Might just get the official trim surround whilst I'm at it then...

Out of interest - is it possible to swap the stereo and the drawer?

I meant the vertical bit of trim :-)

Although you might be able to put your finger through the hole and wriggle it out from behind the switch.

Yes you should be able to swap the stereo and drawer around

Ah- the vertical bit of trim is the one I'm trying to remove as it's the one I want to replace with a cup holder ;)

Maybe it just needs a bit more effort then...

Ahh got ya. Wide screwdriver from underneath and twist. Should just jump out literally! Then its the Torx screws and in goes the new cup holder :-)

So essentially pry it out from underneath?

Yep. Should just pop out. It might not move then it will suddenly jump across the car. Mine always does

Righto, I'll have a go when the bloody rain has stopped...
