4 wheel alignment at ABC

Featured Replies

Ambrosia has just returned from ABC http://www.abc-carservice.co.uk/ after having a 4 wheel alignment check.

The front wheels were spot on but the rears needed some adjustment, they were well within Skoda's tolerances but it was decided just to alter the rears slightly. Everything is now straight.

Big thanks to all at ABC, they certainly know there stuff. I can highly recommend them.

Exactly as I said, they can still be within tolerance but out each side

Skoda aligned mine the other day but it's still going to ABC when I get them to fit the wishbone bushes so they can adjust and check. Don't trust Skoda at all especially after what I've been through with them and they are incapable of checking their own work for quality, letting you drive off in a car that's still faulty after taking your money.

Whilst on the subject of ABC; anyone used them for servicing? How did it go?

They seem competant in most things , the dpf delete I saw them do whilst I was there was very good

It is free to check, if nothing altered no charge, about 70/75 for full 4wa

Hmmm, cost me £90 + vat for the full setup...

I paid £60 for my 4 wheel alignment at ABC,mine needed the front alignment & one rear corner adjusting on my octy,Top job carried out by friendly people who know there stuff & use the correct equipment.

They heard you live in Ilkley-------- loadsamoney!!! :giggle:

The thought did occur to me actually, though I don't think I gave them my address until after they'd given me the price!

Not having a great deal of luck with the car recently, the same bloody day I got the alignment done at ABC, in a lapse of concentration I hit the kerb when pulling up, which took a chunk out of my sidewall, which then required me to get both fronts changed anyway and get the alignment re-done on that wheel! Jeez!

This was after your favourite dealer trying to con me into them replacing all 4 tyres for me, which they claimed were all MoT failures due to the mis-alignment, despite them having passed the car through its MoT two weeks earlier! (I also got 2nd and 3rd opinions on the tyres from Alba and ABC who agreed they were all still roadworthy and MoT-able)

Im getting my alignment done in a fortnights time (once Ive had the rear tyres replaced) My car is a 2008. I found the new settings on here but will my car need this as its a 2008? Also, what happens with regards to front settings?

Hmm, thanks. Wondering if something isn't quite as it should be on either car, as the 54 plate hatch and the 08 plate estate handle totally different. Only 24k miles different, and same suspension set up as they are both Elegance models, running on identical brand 16 inch tyres on Vega rims. The estate seems to wallow about a bit more than the hatch, it doesn't quite seem to handle as well. Perhaps it's a difference in weight between the cars, perhaps not, I don't know.

Jack up rear and check the bottom of the springs. They often rot and snap due to location. This affects the ride quite a bit. Mine felt better with snapped springs as it had effectively lowered it by 30mm ;) Took a bit of getting used to with new springs and a higher ride - a bit wallowy at first.

Did you mention Briskoda when you were there? as I got a discount for being a Briskoda member!!!

After a period of time away, I'm back in West Yorkshire. Having used ABC previously, bit shocked that they don't appear to be on the go anymore. Does anyone know if they stopped trading or working under a new name? I really liked Peter and his team. Good honest mechanics.

P.s. sorry for resurrecting an old thread.
