vRS Tyre Pressures

Featured Replies

What are people using? What Skoda recommend or a bit more/less. Last vRS I found was better a few PSI higher

2.5 /2.4 reccomended for 3 passengers and luggage iirc, so with just me in the car with no luggage I run at 2.3 / 2.2 bar which seems sensible to me, unless anyone can suggest otherwise?

I run 38psi all round although I'm on wider rims with 215 tyres

2.5 bar all round! Trust me :)

You're so confident you said it twice :D Only asking because handling doesn't feel the same with new tyres on that's all. I've driven to Goodwood and back last weekend so should have bedded in by now. Then again it's been wet pretty much every day they've been on. Pressures was the next thing I needed to check. I'll go do that now

lol... was at work so on my phone (slow network! and arsy access!)

2.5 bar has always worked perfect for me (cold pressure)

my new KU39's have been pushed to hell on the VERY wet conditions we are having here at the moment, and are as good at the maxxis in the rain, so no complaints (I didnt push them at all for 500 miles..)

havent tried them in the dry, but doubt they can beat the maxxis, they rocked in the dry... but hell £66 each is bugger all ;)

what did you have again?

My tyres were Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalines. Haven't been out that long but write ups seem good. Considering they are supposed to be weaker in the wet I've found them fine so far. Haven't had real chance to try them in the dry as its rained every time I've driven since they've been on. Reset all pressures to 2.5 bar. Fronts were that already but rears were slightly down. If it's dry later on I'll take it out for a late night blast to see what's what.

Maybe for once fitter had put them up to settle the beads and then put them bac down to the recommend pressure shown on the Fuel filler flap for 205/40/17's.

'3 passengers' 2.5 bar front & 2.4 bar rear.

Full loaded, 2.5 front and 3.0 rear.

Did you press the TPM button to set it to your chosen pressure now?

Never pressed it. Only assumed you reset it if you've had a puncture. I'd never let tyres go so low on air that the TPM would come on. I tend to notice if tyres feel low or odd that's why I asked what everyone else was doing

Its for you to set after changing tyres or wheels, & re-setting your pressure.

Its not the pressure it reads, its the tyres circumference with the aid of the ABS sensors.

Page 142

(tells you a bit about the system & stuff about what it might be sensitive with.)

Then, see below.

'Basic setting the system'.

"After changing the tyre inflation pressures or after changing one or several wheels, a basic setting of the system must be carried out

as follows.

* Inflate all tyres to the specific pressure.

*Switch on the ignition.

* Press button SET for more than 2 seconds. While pressing the button the warning light, light up.

At the same time the basic values are stored, which is conformed with an acoustic sound and then the warning light goes out."

(there is more on page 143,Function description etc)

EDIT< been reading it fully now from the manual.

(BAD TRANSLATION to ENGLISH FROM SKODA AGAIN,) possibly.!!

"THe tyre pressure monitoring system compares with the aid of the ABS sensors the speed and also

the rolling circumference of the individual wheels. If the tyre inflation pressure is significantly changed and thus

the rolling circumference of a wheel, the warning light, lights up in the instuement cluster.

the TPMS functions late or too sensitively if.

* the structure of the tyre is damaged

* the vehicle is loaded to one side with a load on the roof"

etc etc

*

******(love this one)

" * the driver has a sporty style of driving (with sharp acceleration and high speed when cornering)"
