Hi hope you are all well!

Yorkie minus his back seats, Garmin woman, wonderwoman and yours truly just back from 3 and a half weeks Luxembourg,Interlaken, Lake Garda, Zell am Zee and Taunus area West of Frankfurt mainly in Eurocamp mobile homes.

Great holiday and blessed with tremendous weather but thought I would do a brief report on my thoughts on my Yeti.

Did not drive around much in both Switzerland and Italy using trains etc (just the job for you Graham) in the Jungfrau and boats on Garda walked miles much of it on high level paths but travelled over some great passes Grimsel/Furka and Gottard over into Italy and through Trento region over Grossglockner (highly recommended) to Zell am Zee, autobahns up through Germany and back to Rotterdam and the ferryto Hull.

2300 miles with 44.1 mpg showing on MDF much mixed and some spirited driving on a grat variety of roads my bride at the wheel for some of the trip.

Car went well and is a joy to drive.

I have driven all over Europe often by myself and found my first slight niggle!

I am blind in my left eye and never really had a problem with previous cars (luckily I have a small nose) but side visibility has never been a real problem on previous cards but requires a double take at times on Yorkie with his side panels . Wonderwoman who sees (and hears!) everything also commented.

Even with the spare wheel we were able to chuck in all sorts of stuff in case of bad weather (minus 6 on Jungfraujoch) and also all our bedding and in Italy several cases of Bardolino and in Germany some beer.

Great to drive on the windy passes and confirmed that DSG is the best thing since sliced bread (already a convert from my Octavia). A combination of manual and sport mode is great for both ascent and descent.

Previous comments re the perceived difference from PDi to common rail by Johann etc were noticed as it you don`t get the same feeling of ummphh on the common rail even though it is just as quick.

Garmin woman did well as I bought a new one (mid range) in Easter sales to replace my 6 year old small one and she got us round horrendous roadworks south of Munich and Eindhoven with only a couple of strange mini detours on our trip.

Thoughts for a future Yeti 170 DSG, 7 gears perhaps with better side vision but overall what a great car and hopefully will be for the next few years.

Taking him to the Great Yokshire Show tomorrow to plough through the mud, should I put the Goodyears on?!!

This retirement thing is just the job as we say in Gods own county all we need is some descent weather over here.

Cheers to you all.

Peter.

Glad you had a great time ... you may have noticed it has rained here while you've been away!

Good report! But no photos?! Glad you enjoyed your beastie.
