Cheap boost gauges

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Looking at fitting a discreet boost guage to monitor pessures. Would a cheap one off ebay work ok? The one below goes upto 30psi which i thought would be safe. car currently is just remapped, but i was unsire what peak boost would be expected?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/S3-52mm-Turbo-Boost-gauge-psi-blue-bk-light-Universal-kit-track-project-Car-/170870571215?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27c8ae00cf#ht_2796wt_1163

I expect id need to replace the T piece with a tap into the hard boost pipe to the turbo, but apart from that are they ok? Are they reasonably accurate?

Cheers,

Mike

I can't comment on that particular one, but I bought one from R spec for a similar price but one that reads up to 2 bar as bar tends to be quoted more for our boost pressures.

I found it virtually bang on cross referencing it with VCDS readings :)
