Hello

My keyfob doesn't work.

It's for 2003 fabia hatchback.

LED does not blink.

There's a missing component on the pcb , where two silver pads are ( see pic )

I know it's a quartz oscillator , but I don't know the frequency.

So will anyone be so kind and open his remote , to check and let me know the description on it ?

You can change your battery at the same time .

Any help will be much appreciated.

I have soldered 12 MHz quartz and led is now flashing , but didn't work with the car.

Wrong frequency.

So I'm only missing this part to get it going.

Please see pictures of what I think it may look like.

I need to know what is written on that part.

Hi, Don't know what your key is for, but my internals look totally different to yours. However I believe my "quartz thingymajig" says 13.575, maybe this will help you

Key is for 2003 fabia and yes there are different versions.

Is there a motorola chip in yours ?

Mine is from a 2003 and is virtually identical. MIne also says 13.575 with a box with a sine wave inside and D:2x on it. I suppose the sine wave could be a miniature M.

looking at that pic, there does not seem to be anything missing, the two blobs of solder i assume you are reffering to as where the crystal should go do not show signs of something coming off, they are too perfect, you may find the crystal on the other side of the boards

and if the crystal should have been there you would have found it inside tha case when you took the keyfob apart surely?

It looks like that after my soldering.

Someone probably opened it before and removed that part from casing.

Remote wasn't working when I've got this car.

Quick update

The closest value oscillator I could get was 13.56 MHz

Got a pair on ebay for the whole 1.20 euro

I've soldered it on today and my keyfob is now working
