Auxiliary belt tensioner.

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I'm new to the site and after a little help.

I own a skoda fabia 1.4 8v petrol with air con and the auxiliary belt snapped. I've got the replacement part from skoda. And trying to fix it myself, I've got the belt the way it should run but can't see how the tensioner is adjusted.

Any help would be greatful.

Marcus.

If it's anything like my Polo, then the tensioner has a nut on the end which you turn anti-clockwise. As you do this, it pushes the pulley up and releases the tension in the system.

Thanks buddy. We just moved the tensioner and we can see where ur talk about. We gonna try that. Thanks again. Shall let u know how we get on.

Good luck! Sounds like you've got this covered, but it's much easier with two people. I tried on my own and failed - had to get my dad to finish it off.

When you move the tensioner usally there is a hole on the casting & tensioner that line up & you can put a drill bit in & this keeps the tension off so its easier to fit the belt if there is only one of you.
