JOM Bonnet Lifters

Featured Replies

This could be a similar situation as the Jom strut brace that didn't fit properly. In my opinion the Jom stuff seems like cheap tat that doesn't even fit the cars its produced for.

Sent from my phone, using my thumb.

.................. ( thats what i have to say about jom )

Nope cant not be mean :(

I expect its another one of their dog poo products that you have to beat fudge out of to make fit !!!

It's partly venom's fault, they say it will fit and it doesn't. So what do you think, should I send them back or bend them? Bonnet is not lifted every day..

I have these i just modified them to fit, ie I just bent the tops of them in vice to fit,

altho be careful because they snap easy, i ended up with 2 sets as i snapped one of the rams first time round,

Been on 6 months and still work fine

That's what i will probably do. Did you heat them up before bending?

No i didn't i just put them in vice and was very gentle,

Do a search for bonnet lifters i seem to remember a thread on it a few months back about bending them to fit

I will try to heat them up, to prevent them from snapping. I'll put some pics up tomorrow.

heating is a bad idea mate...you'll risk very much. The body may expand and lose the gas, sealings may crack

Use a hammer .

Those are Golf bonnet lifters

You can even see in the pic there are on a Golf, and you can see the angle their supposed to attach.

v.naughty or ignorant of Venom to list as for the Octy

All you have to do is bend the top knuckle and they will go on fine! We hit the strut with a hammer and it went on.
