Comma Xtreme G30 Concentrate

Featured Replies

Im gonna do a thermostat and coolant change tomorrow. Was considering this as its alot cheaper and entirely compatible with Vag cooling systems and other g12 and g12 ++ coolants.

No matter how much i search i cant find the mixing ratios of the concentrate.

Does anyone know so i can order the correct amount? What is the capacity of the alh cooling system - and how much of the aforementioned will be needed to do this properly (imagining i get 75% of the old coolant out.)

Cheers again fellas and ladies

the mixing ratio is on the antifreeze bottle.Try to make a concentration for -35 deg C....don't get lower than that, the more antifreeze is thicker and cooling properties will be not so good

Autodata says 6.8l of coolant in the 1.9 TDI ALH engine

When i remove the pipe to the thermostat, how much coolant will come from there alone? Sorry dont explain myself well sometimes

First make sure the engine is cold, and I mean at least 5-6 hours from last start to minimise the lost. You'll lose some and I would estimate 1l at most, but more like 500-700ml.

I took off that pipe myself, and on my 1.8T that was the quantity.

Cant believe the difference, first off the mixed coolant colour vs the old. It must have been watered down before cos it was a pale pastey pink, however this new stuff is PINK - proper luminous. Ended up being able to replace about 5 litres so went 50/50 thermostat was an 4rse hole to fit, as old one had clip retainers, new one didnt although it was the right size etc, had to put wire around it and pull it into place on the plastic pipe bolt it up then remove wire.

Done and done, very cheap to thermostat kit with o rings and a gasket (only needed one o ring) £5.80 inc VAT 3 litres of xtream G30 concentrate £14.70.

From a factors in perth - just shows ebay isnt always cheap, cheapest was £5 per litre for g30 and £8.99 for the thermostat plus post came to £30 all but and i would have had to wait for it
