  • There is no such thing as a 3D TV. It's stereoscopic TV. That's why it makes some people (me) want to puke or rip their eyes out. 3D will be folded into mainstream shortly. You won't be able to by a

  • Yup, always laugh at Monster cables It's a digital signal, so as long as the receiver is receiving everything that was sent, there's nothing to be gained!

  • are there any 3D porno's yet that would make this a worthwhile investment?

Forget holographics, bio-ports are the future.

I have a Samsung 50 inch 3d tv. Polar Express in 3d is fantastic for the kids. But for me the real enjoyment are blueray films. Having just purchased the star wars blueray box set. My eyes are not what they used to be and so I need specs for television viewing but with my bins on and with 5.1 surround sound the cinema experience has really come to our living room. In actual fact better than cinema experience as my settee is far more comfy than any cinema seat !

TBH i would say 60-70% the immersion of a film is down to the audio.. having 3d definitely adds to the experience, but id rate getting decent audio/surround above getting 3d.

I agree with that.I got my first surround processor in 1994. Its moved on a bit and my system is by no way top notch but several thousand has been spent. Sort out the audio and screen size then move into 3D. Buy a HD Projector

Exactly! totally agree...good sound makes one huge difference!

I watched Avatar 3D on my new ST50 on Saturday and it was good and in some places very good but for me who's come from a non HD TV having HD is the real bonus of my new telly

I have no interest in watching a 3D TV whatsoever. I'm not a technophobe - I just find it distracting and annoying (free headache?). For the same reasons I try to avoid anything 3D in the cinema and not just because I end up looking like the world's worst Roy Orbison tribute.

Long live 2D!
