funny noise and camshaft sensor (fab vrs 06)

Featured Replies

hi guy's just a quick one hopefully, my camshaft sensor has come up as faulty and i just want to know if when i unbolt it

does it come away simply and is it easy to dis-connect from the other end? (wiring plug-wise end)

Also the small vacuum pipe that comes from the egr valve, could anybody tell me what it goes to (the black box with several numbered pipes coming from it), as this makes a funny noise when the engine is sometimes turned off.

One last thing, my car keeps taking a bit to start, is this mostly the ****y camshaft sensors fault?

cheers guy's for any help :-)

anybody

I thought it was normal for the vacuum box to make a slight noise when shut down? At least, I think my 1.9 Golf did (unless that was something else?).

No idea on the sensor though!

The camshaft sensor comes off when you've taken the 10mm bolt holding it in, there is a locating hole to make sure you get it in the right place, remove the grimmer on the backing plate where the wires go through, and the plug is on the front of the block, theirs 2 plugs together(other plug is the crank sensor). Hope that helps
