removing airbox

Featured Replies

Hi Guys.

Has anyone been able to remove the air box on 2007 vRS TDI without replacing with an induction kit.

If there is can you tell me if there is any problems with it with regards to accelerating or bottoming out under acceleration.

Thanks.

I am not sure what you're asking? Why would you want to remove your airbox and not replace it with an induction kit or intake? Removing the airbox is easy but your car wouldn't run very well for very long.

The reason I asked was a friend has just done this on a signum and said it has probs low down but gets better high end acceleration. Your reply is exactly what I thought but he said it wouldn't matter either way

We were playing on the dyno with my Superb we removed the filter and left the top off the airbox and it lost 10hp

probably not a great idea to be running an intake without a filter, have you ever seen the inside of a leaf sucker :giggle: dont think the turbo would like it
