Bolero Bluetooth?

Featured Replies

Hey, just recently got a 2010 octy vrs with the bolero head unit. I've activated the Bluetooth on the stereo but cannot find it with phone. Is this a standard fit or an extra that may not have been fitted but still shows on screen? Any advice would be greatly recieved thanks

Have a look under the drivers seat under a piece of carpet to see if there is a bluetooth module there. If it was factory fitted, then that is where it wil be.

Once you know you have a BT module fitted, then you can begin to narrow down the possible problems.

Cheers kbphoto I'll check tomorrow, is there a small access slit or is it a case of untucking the carpet? Seems strange that I can tick the box on screen to activate the Bluetooth of its not fitted. Thanks for your help

As far as I'm aware the Bluetooth on the Bolero is for audio only , such as an Ipod or bluetooth MP3 player ,not for a phone .

No doubt someone will correct me if i'm wrong.

Press the phone button on the bolero. If it says something along the lines of "telephone not connected" it has a Bluetooth module attached. If it just mutes the unit; it doesn't......

Thanks guys, had a look and no unit under drivers seat. Just mutes the sound when phone button pressed. Is it an expensive fit at a dealer? Don't realty want the parrot type fits all over the place. Thanks for your help

Around £200 will get you a brand new one from somewhere like CarSystems.pl which you can fit yourself and get coded with VCDS by your local knowledegable Briskodian.

I have no idea how much a dealer retrofit would cost, but I suspect a lot more than having it fitted at build.

Or you can fit a Fiscon unit, integrates well with the maxidot etc.

I fitted an OEM one to my previous Octavia. Fairly easy to do

Cool I'll look into that, don't have the maxidot so can't do that option, infact don't have any extras-- not even a bloody spare wheel! Thanks lads

Guys I could use some help here. I have a superb 2 from 2010. I too have a bolero unit , and pressing the phone button mutes the system and doesn't show the phone menu. I did check under the seat and I am dead sure I see the Bluetooth module in there. What could be my problem ?

Could be a lot of things: its not BT, cable not plugged in, broken wires, vehicle not correctly coded, etc.

Best bet is find someone with VCDS and get a scan done and go from there.
