lO270 Loba turbo price

Featured Replies

Where is the cheapest place to purchase one of these?

Thanks.

I think it's cheapest to go through Loba themselfes!

I think they have a user-profile over at vagoc.co.uk, supersi is his name!

Have you considered all the supporting software and hardware that is required?

APR will be releasing a full stage 3 kit for the fabia later this year once they finish the development on mine.

Who needs the other bits like an Intercooler, induction kit, exhaust, uprated plugs and also the handling mods to make it useful like arb's and braces, upgraded suspension, poly bushes, brakes, and better Tyres just to list a few

If I do decide to go down the route of the turbo yes I have considered intercooler, remaps, intakes etc, I have been saving so I am just planning what exactly I will need to go ahead down the route of a loba turbo

I dont need all the suspension gubbins. I only go fast in a straight line!

Haha but to be fair alot can be gained in a straight line with a few select handling mods

I have a RARB lowered on eibach springs, seems to be a lot firmer when cornering, obviously not as firm as coilover but they can wait..

I will be getting an intercooler, intake system and a remap, Is there anything else I should look at getting?

someone asked on the vagoc asked whether this would run and have gains on a stock car and software but no one replied, does anyone on here know?

Thanks.

What I said above is an absolute minimum for me if I was putting that Turbo on. At bare minimum you'd need an exhaust, better plugs and possibly plasma coil packs depending if Apr managed to sort this another way but I'm sure system will let you know about that aswell.

I'll have the intercooler, intake, plugs, arb, suspension, tyres etc..just a case of like you said about the exhaust and possibly coil packs a decat would be handy but I'd prefer a proper TBE with sports cat

the Turbo costs around 1400€ , if you give them you old Turbo they will give you 200€ off and another 100€ off if you send them your dyno sheet.

That was the deal they gave me .

the Loba is able to run without any problem with the OEM Intercooler and Downpipe since you cant set it to its maximum boost due to the limitation around 240-255HP if you Tuner is able to lower the Torqe while still having high HP.

cheers

So has anyone ever tried running this turbo on a standard set up and had any noticeable power gains from it

Thanks :)

Yes you could run it on the standard intercooler however IMO, that would be stupid. The stock intercooler is rubbish on the stock turbo at anything more than stage 1. So asking the car to produce another 30hp+ on the stock cooler is pointless as its going to have IATs that are through the roof, so what would be the point of doing it?

Yes you probably could run it on the standard downpipe, but why would you. you have a massive restrictive CAT there that will limit performance and cause the exhaust gas temperatures to get to high because your trying to flow to much air though the stock CAT, so the ECU will start retarding boost and timing, so again why would you do that?

It also wouldnt be anywhere near 240-255hp with all the std setup. Mine had a decat, intercooler, radiator and intake with the LOBA and only just made 251Hp however was still suffering with DSG interference at a low boost output. Hurdys was the same he has the same mods as me but with the addition of water meth injection, and his dynos have been showing figures between 230-245hp. So 240-255hp on the stock IC/Downpipe....not a chance.

If your going to pay 1995EURO on a LOBA turbo would you be happy with it only operating at no where near its optimum output, i wouldnt because its a waste of money.

=supersi;134877]thanks for your support and interest on this turbo, was my idea :) ill try to answer your questions

first off this turbo is fresh out of R&D and being tested as i write this

1. turbo is as OEM so plug and play

2. the claimed number is what the turbo is designed for, but as with any turbo upgrade you need to upgrade the usual stuff to get the most or tune as you want. Free flowing exhaust , larger downpipe, decat or sport, upgraded intercooler, oil cooler , w/m maybe, high pressure fuel pump, cold air intake, and upgraded brakes !! lol

3. in order to get independent numbers out there we're looking for people to partner up. Therefore we're offering the first 5 customers this unit for EUR 1,750 incl. shipping. MSRP will be EUR 1,995 without shipping.

Moreover, We will give you back EUR 200 for your old OEM unit and another EUR 100 if you provided a dyno sheet :)

The first 5 units have already been sold.

Id bet if you were to run this on the std setup, you would be limited to around 215-220hp due to the exhaust gas temps getting too high and heatsoak which will also sap the power. Which makes a nearly 2000euro outlay very poor value£/bhp. A stage 1 remap and intake would probably give similar results and for a lot less money.

Have you considered who you are going to map it with?

Hurdy has stayed with his REVO stage 2 setup, however REVO have refused to provide a bespoke map for it, although i know hes waiting to see the results of mine before he makes his final decision. Jabbasport were keen to do the development for a hybrid so are also an option. Ive gone to APR, who are still developing softarwee for the hybrid. Shark may be interested as would P-Torque id imagine.

Just adding one thing : changing intake is worth nothing.

Save that and put it on a proper 3" downpipe ;).

EDIT : should have been a nothing, not anything. Stupid auto-correct.

Your intake might have been worht no gains, but to generalise all intakes is incorrect.

My old forge intake wasn't any good for making power so would fall under that same bracket as stated above, however my current ITG intake made 10hp in the midrange and 7hp peak gain, so to say all intakes give you no gains....disagree and have before/after dyno proof to back that up.

I would love too see your dynos which claims otherwise.

GIAC recommends the stock-intake since it's very free-flowing and since they actually have shown me proof live I'd say that I listen abit more to them ;).

I remember that someone claimed that he got benefits from the Forge-intake aswell, but that might just be me then.

Mine was done at APR on their dyno by their engineers. Hurdys was done by Statdlers before and after, he also showed gains.....you can believe what you want mate. I've seen it personally. When im back in the UK ill dig out the graphs and post them up

Where is the cheapest place to purchase one of these?

Thanks.

I have a Loba LO270 Turbo that I could possibly be persuaded to part with for the right amount ££££.

I brought one in haste back in April with all intentions of fitting it!

I know I'll be taking a hit on the price, but you could be saving yourself a few pennies

The unit with delivery cost me £1700.

Due to a bit of interest this is now up on the for Sale Thread.
