Featured Replies

when i said to farmers skoda in leicester he really wasnt interested in knocking anything off the price and at

Get the car you want before the claws get in and your driving a Nissan Bloody Serena cos its practical! and not an SR130AS I was before. 8 years have passed now awaiting 2.0fsi (co car but my choice not SWMBO'S)

Turn up with Cash!

If I was a dealer and wanted

Only way i've been able to budge them is by getting them to up the car i'm part-ex'ing in - useless advice if you're not part-ex'ing tho!

Certainly you don't want to be paying more than 95% of sticker price.

Less than that if they were laready optimistic with their pricing to start with

Think there have or maybe even a few '03's on here for

As a guide for the WRC edition ( only 25 in the uk) I paid 11 750 for 12months and 30k on the clock...it listed at 21kbut the options list was such that you get almost the same spec (except white (technically) for a little under 14.

Personally I would search the UK's stock since you have cash and call each one in turn...deal or dead line tone.

At the end of the day if you find a peach for 10k in Thurso, the train fair won't be 1500 quid...well actually it might be on a Saturday. But you I hope get the idea.

They make the money on servicing and the poor chap who traded it in / demo car allowance (IMHO).

by order of swmbo

got more in the bank but she wants to spend it on a bloody wedding

Tell her to marry someone else if she wants to spend it :D

I found this problem also

By shopping around you can get a brand new octy vr's estate for

Completley, i bet i can walk in to my local dealer tomorrow when i pick up my furby vrs and secure you a new octy vrs for

Hmmm drivethedeal.com want 12990 for a new one in non-metallic. You should be able to get an 03 for around 11k though. Just be cool and don't look too desperate. I waited a couple of weeks and my dealer came down 800 quid in the end, especially since month-end came along and he wanted to shift the car quickly.

I cant make my mind up if the dealer having 6/7 vr's all at the same sot of price or milage works in my favor or not

he might be keen to shift them as he has to many

or dont want to drop the pricre because he has 6/7 others all at a higher price

as long as i dont get some arseh0le of a salesman i think think it could be quite fun especially if i have a wad of cash to wave at him

all i need to do is workout if anybody sells carbonio and dv30 bits on the way home from lincon to derby see if i can waste some of that cash i saved

Most dealers (unless they're small independents) aren't swayed by wads of cash. They like people to buy using finance, it gets them commission and means they can deal in faxed bits of paper, rather than transporting large quantities of cash from their safe to the bank.

Rob.

All this talk of cash deals.Isn't there anything about garages worrying about money laundering? We get hammered on anything when people are literally waving rather large sums of money around and have to refuse it.

As for the price there is a 54 plate black estate at our local dealer.6 months old but I think it has about 20 k miles on the clock

Dont really fancy using cash anyway unless it does get me a much better deal

but it bugs me that for not a lot more than some of the dealers want for a used one you can get a new one

when i looked at that one in leicester at 12500 i could get one from the car supermarket in derby for about

My price was from Buyacar

Autocar also Quote a Target price of 13.5K (ish) for the octy vr's estate.
