Hi All as i said in my new member post, i am new to VAG group car's so any issues to be aware of on this car? mine has 33000 genuine miles and fssh, is actually due a service on 3rd august, so that will be done next week sometime, by my local trusted garage (not dealer), who i have used for 6 yrs now and never had an issue so see no reason to change

fabia's have a tendency to eat console bushes, not a big or expensive job but probably something you will have go every 3-4 years

drop links are another common but again, no biggie

on another forum i go on, they say the 1.2 engine is weak, ie timing chains go early, are they telling the truth or is that just to scare me?

both of those done in last 2 yrs, according to the history and bills i have

what engine 6v or 12v?

either way, chains due around 60k, most get them done before that, between 50,000 - 60,000 miles. Mines on 52,000 and never had it done, still nice and quiet so will get it done around 58,000.

Sticking valves seems to be a common problem but dont know anyone on this forum with that problem so cant be that much of a "common fault" but always comes up.

make sure you use decent oil.

rear door seals leak, very common on all Fabias though... not just yours.

6v mate, will probably get mine done at about 40k in about febuary next year

i had seen about the door seals

it's 10w 40 semi synthetic isn't it for mine
