Ideal tire pressures?

Featured Replies

Any ideas for tire pressures to use on Octavia 4x4 combi? I never had a 4x4 before.

Before, I've always found (based on suggestion from tire professionals) that using pressures from the 'loaded' scale always make for a better ride.

If the car had like suggestion 2,1 front and back but loaded up to 2,3 front and 2.8 back, I would go for 2,3 / 2,6 for daily driving.

Sure the ride is a bit stiffer, but I've found handling to be much better, and especially the rear tire pressure increase has pretty much removed the FWD tendencies to push and made them much better balanced when sliding in the winter especially.

I'll start testing how does a little increase affect the 4x4 Ocu but any experience welcome. And yes, I drive on very icy roads constantly in the winter.

It should be interesting, as this will also be the first year with studless winter tires - I have always used spiked ones before five months a year. I'm worried about how can I survive without proper ice spikes.
