Bit of help please?

Featured Replies

hello everyone

i am now officially the owner of a mk2 fabia vrs in a dashing yellow :giggle:

I'm just after a bit of advice really, whats sort of things can i do to squeeze a bit more power from this beauty? (without going to overboard, and trying to keep it relatively cheap)

all suggestions are greatly appreciated, as is any info on the best places to go to get work done

cheers

shanners

Run it on premium fuel.

Running it on normal 95ron fuel will cause the car to lower the power output and not get the full 180bhp.

The TMC tuning boxes seem to be getting good reviews on these cars.

if its a new car, don't run it in gently, drive it normally, dont be afraid to use full throttle and full revs where ness. ;)

Welcome to vRS ownership.

Might be an idea to run it a while and see that all is OK,

then if twice the UK legal speed limit and as fast as about anything else from 0-70 is not enough, the Fabia 2 section is full of tuning ideas.

98 Ron Petrol or Tesco Momentum 99 Ron & good quality oil, and good tyres at the correct pressure is a good idea.

Keeping your licence or at least not gaining points is hard enough with a standard one, and with a Yellow one that might be even harder.

Have fun.

EDIT, PS

Just spotted your introduction post and i see that you ordered one.

Have you got it yet and been driving in it to see what it does when standard or after a few miles have passed?

cheers guys

As said, check out the Fabia 2 section, lots of threads on there about mods and tuning.

Quite a few regulars have had remaps or use tuning boxes as well as suspension, electrical and cosmetic mods. When I got mine the stock speed and acceleration is more than enough but can understand why people want to get more and I may well do it myself. The biggest thing I think the car needs first though is better suspension so that you can maintain your speed through the bends. Lots have lowered it (does look better) with various springs and stiffening up with a RARB.
