Octavia Estate 1.8tsi

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Should be selling my Honda Civic tomorrow so have been looking around for a new car.

I have come across a Black 2009 Octavia Estate 1.8tsi. They are asking £9k for it....is this a good price? Also what are these like? I might add my previous car before the Civic was a Fabia Vrs :-)

Also how are the 1.8tsi Octavias service wise?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice :-)

Dave

6 month older facelift version of what I have. Love my car and the engine that's in it, but have no idea on whether it's good value or not.

One thing though, you've failed to state the mileage, condition, etc. If it's done 200,000 miles i'd bet it wasn't a good buy! ;)

Haha fair point :-D it's only done around 25k miles so still nice and low :-)

If you buy this; within a day or two you will end up by concluding it's the best 4 cylinder petrol engine, bar none, that you've ever had or driven.

They rave about this engine in the Audi's and the Audi TT. It's absolutely brilliant. It's so good, I'm surprised VAG let Skoda have it. It's an absolute cracker of an engine and the Octy is a pretty good bit of kit too.

Spec makes a big diffence to the value.

Estate adds.

DSG adds.

the better ones seem to be holding up, not many around.

Is it the elegance at lookers?

Indeed, but I only sold my civic this afternoon. But I can't spend the money until my private plate is off the civic :-( ..... at the moment I have been paid for the civic and still have it lol ..... trusting buyers :-)

Test drove a 1.4tsi SE today, got to say I was very happily surprised by the performance :-) and I loved the touch screen radio :-) so I put a deposit down pending my wife test driving it. Price agreed was £8500 it's on a 59 plate with 30k on the clock and in perfect condition.

Cheers Dave
