Fabia vRS vs Octavia vRS [PD versions]

Featured Replies

Simply put, which of the two is the quicker accelerating when considering the MK1 Fab and the MK2 PD Octy?

Also, when both are remapped?

The Octavia probably. It is a 2.0 and 170bhp as standard.

Anyone have first hand experience?

I have both, Fabia feels faster low down but less grunt higher up due to the smaller turbo.

My experience is that the fabia FEELS faster, but in a straight line drag to 100 what is actually faster?

I'd say the Octavia.

Both are great, very different to drive. Fabia feels nippier, Octavia has a better suspension setup with less body roll - its a firmer ride though.

I've a fabia and my dad had an octavia, nothing in it when standard to 90, never went over that but would think after that the octavia would pull. Now they are both mapped there is still nothing in it lol both good cars :) still think the octavia would have more top end, it's got more power at the end of the day and more aerodynamic

One thing I can say that the octavia suffers from alot of axle tramp, so maybe off the line the fabia would have it and would stay in front. The dealer where my dad bought his said the fabia was much faster as they used to drag them up the road all the time lol

Interestingly, Autocar got regular 8.0s runs to 60 out of their long term Fabia and one 7.0s run in the cold!

First gear feels stronger in the Fabia, of course it was always more than 130 bhp anyway.
