First Service

Featured Replies

Took my SM in today for its first service at 17,200 miles and 17 months from new (not due for another 1500 miles but decided to get it done before holidays). Done in just over 2 hours while I did some shopping, included replacing rear badge as per recall. Pleased to see that brake pads were only 10% worn and tyres still have enough meat on them for my forthcoming holiday. Receptionist was very cheerful and helpful which always helps - she even understood why I didn't want it washing. Best part was that the bill came to £164 having been quoted £198 over the phone and again when booking it in! Result!

I priced around for my first service on my Greenline 2 at 15000km (don't like variable servicing) and the price ranged between 245 euro and 99 euro all at Skoda approved service centres. The 99 euro was listed as a special offer and was probably pitched at those with more mileage coming in for an interim service who would then require more work carried out but it worked for me.

You don't give the dealer's name, TimR, but it looks as if they deserve some publicity!

£35 seems a lot for a wash, good job you didn't want it.

It was Lookers Skoda in Stockport. As there seems to be a 20% difference between the price quoted and paid I wondered if they had added VAT to a price that already included VAT when they quoted me? Whatever the reason I'm always happy to accept an unexpected discount!
