Boosting / vacuum issue

Featured Replies

I have a boost guage which right now is proving handy

Used to sit at a solid -20 hg at idle and boost to 20 psi

The car right now feels normal and if it wasnt for the guage i wouldn't have noticed the problem. At idle the hg figure fluctuates every 5s or so from -20 then dips to -15 then back to -20

Also on boost it peaks to 20psi then drops to 15psi then back to 20psi where it used to hold 20psi through this point

Possible slight vacuum leak?

or boost gauge fault?

No you do feel a slight loss in boost and a slight shudder at idle but without the guage i probably wouldnt have noticed it! It is an expensive new south guage

have you ran a search for fault codes? MAP sensor?

Is all the boost gauge piping ok?, any faults in t piece or piping to gauge?. Is vac piping to dv ok?.

No access to vcds and its only occurred tonight!

Seems fine now though! Maybe a gremlin starting

It could be the boost gauges set-up, all the pipework and things like that may not be correct?

I think its a breather hose starting to go
