Hello Everyone,

Thought of sharing my experience with new Skoda Laura TSI petrol which I bought. The black beauty is a beast and I have done 1400 Kilometre so far. Pushed it to 120 km/ hr last weekend and it started to pull neatly with good torque and then started making some hump kinda noise like the tyre touching the inner body of the car. Obviously it was nothing of that sort and my guess is the car was resisting being pushed harder though I was on 6 th gear!

Any feedback is welcome. Tried getting membership to team- BHP forum which is India's best automotive forum and got rejected twice!

All tips on maintenance and minor modifications are welcome.

Hi,

I'm not 100% sure to be honest as i own a Fabia, so never looked at maintence for an Octavia (Laura).

Best thing to do for accessories would be to Google it and see what comes up and also check with your Skoda dealer to see what they can get for you.

Hello Does anyone have any knowledge of how to remedy issues with the RNS510 Columbus stereo cutting out, and a pulsing kind of heartbeat sound being emitted from the speakers? Do I need to install software? If so, how do I know which type and what version I will need, and where do I get it? Thanks in advance.

I guess this is a common problem with the steering wheel and the silver trim piece at the bottom. Has anyone managed to find this replacement part (on AliExpress, Temu, or anywhere else)? A new one costs over €120 (https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/5e3419671vkh-steering-wheel-cover-skoda-46861.html), which seems absurdly expensive for what it is. I've seen that some people repaint it, wrap it with vinyl, or use other fixes, but I'd really prefer to find a brand-new replacement part at a rea

I recently bought a used 2024 (built 2023) diesel Octavia Vrs. Although my phone - Motorola G9play - shows on the Skoda website as compatible with the infotainment system, I have been unable to link the phone after multiple attempts. Has anyone had this as an issue and found a solution?

Hello all, I am looking for advice from the hive mind please. We have a 2012 Fabia Scout and it needs new shocks, maybe rear springs too. Most places list these items, but they are the standard Fabia items, and I believe that the Scout has a slightly different spec suspension. If that's your plan then go for it. It's a very simple and painless process from past experience but admittedly that was some time ago now since I last ran Linux. I have a 2017 Asus X555 (I think it is) that's now redundant but serviceable I was thinking of wiping the SSD and installing Linux on. Might be worthy of a topic in the Tech Shed for more input.
