Wheel bearing

Featured Replies

Got a wheel bearing going, some where. Been to price up and front is £125 and rear £104 which i expected as its not just the singular bearing. Only problem is there is two types, difference being one with 3 bolts, one with 4 bolts on the flange (end of the stub axle)

Anyone know which the my vRS uses?

The car is going to Germany next month and im not driving all the way over there with a knackered bearing noise :wall:

Ha ok scrap the prices (that was from my local motor factors, which are normally cheap) but europarts only want around £95 for a front :)

Is it a wheel bearing going or sawtoothing on the tyres?

I was going to say check rear tyres first.

Oh? It was lowered about 3 month ago and im struggling to ind a garage that will do the tracking on such a low car.

Ill have a look later

Defo worth checking for tyre noise first especially on the rear.

hi i have 06 octavia just priced front wheel bearing a gsf £52 plus vat

Definately worth a check , I was convinced my bearingswere going till I had it aligned on the hunter, much quieter now , was sawtoothing as well so worth doing Em.

It isn't tracking you need, it is a proper geometry check on a Hunter rig or similar.

Had a quick search for you

Had a look at the tyres, the front looks like it feathering at the edge but only very slightly, the rears looks fine;

Take it here , good guys and on the forum http://www.briskoda....-bradford-area/

I used these to do my 4 wheel alignment,it will be a bit of a drive for you from whitby(was for me & im from far side of york) but was worth it,friendly guys who know there stuff & a fair price too.

Ema_jane,did you get a 4 wheel alignment done when you lowered your car? if not id get it checked & adjusted if req.

The rear camber will be out if it hasn't been aligned after it was lowered.

Is it me, or the angle of the photo, it only looks like about 2/3 of the rear tyre is in contact with the ground?

To me camber looks out

It most likely is out as no iv never had it adjusted since, the car is a work horse (regrettably) so some how iv never actually got round to getting it booked in any where.

I think its just the angle of the photo, the tyres make good contact with the road
