Throttle Control Module? EMS warning light

Featured Replies

Hi folks

The EMS warning light came on on our Octavia 2.0PD TDi Estate, 2008 model. The car drives fine so I figured it was nothing to worry about but took it to a garage anyway. They plugged in the diagnostics and tell me that the fault says "Throttle Control Module fault". They then quoted £300 + VAT for replacing it.

Now, I've just read a thread on here which has recently been bumped up which looks like a similar fault.

The quote seems high but is that because the part is expensive or the labour? Would it be worth DIY?

If it's a recurring fault, would Skoda be replacing them outside of warranty?

Wish I'd taken out a warranty now, but you live and learn!
