Need some pics of calipers !!!!

Featured Replies

Strange but i need some pics of your brake calipers (Green Vrs type)....in dispute with skoda about mine, i think that when they washed my car after its 10,000 mile service they used a strong alloy cleaner resulting in the calipers becoming dull and more of a matt finish ....they as usual deny all responsibility for this ....it is know as far as customer services of skoda UK who are backing the dealership...They say my only option is to take legal action !!! its not a major problem but they did do it as i am anal about cleaning my wheels etc so i know what they looked like before the service......

They also lost my service book !!!

I can't take any pics of mine, but I have the same problem I used turtle wax extreme wheel cleaner with no probs for 4 washes, but then ran out after cleaning only one wheel. I then used halfords own brand wheel cleaner on the other 3 and that seemed to remove all of the shine and leave them dull looking. It is really noticeable when comparing them with the one good caliper.

It does sound like this is what has happened to your car.

I am going to give the garage strict instructions not clean any part of the car when it goes in for a service, I would rather let some chav joy ride in it for a day.

Have you tried tcut?

Yes, to quote them when I enquired about costs for servicing for my new Furby that I bought from another dealer...

"We only provide courtesy cars if you bought the car from us"....and the price was way over the odds for a 10'000 oil change.

Good luck getting the calipers shiny again.

I use MC2 on my wheels and calipers and they do become a bit dull....don't think MC2 is that "corrosive" compared to soemthing like Wonderwheels.

Got into them yesterday with the Auto Glym stuff ...came up relativly shiny ..still pi$$ed at the dealer as they still have not supplied my replacment service book that they lost...

how about a coat of laquer?are they laquered to begin with?

I've just posted a couple of pics in the brakes thread - mine are a bit dull too, I'm afraid.
