Flyeyes rear light tint

Featured Replies

To follow up on the recent thread I thought i'd try the flyeyes kit on my VRS

http://www.flyeyeskit.co.uk/

Its as easy of the video suggests, a 30cmx50cm sheet just covers one rear light and cost £3 and takes about 5 mins per side (so £8.99 per car with the p&p) , I went for GREY2 but i think in retrospect black would've been better

They are meant to be mot complaint and dont significantly reduce the light output

Its a choice thing i guess, But i like the first picture.

You havent got the black front lights though, makes the rear lights look odd imo

Looks good... I need to purchase some and get it on mine! Finishes the back off nicely

Ps. Is the film a film or is it loads of holes on it ?

Loads of holes it's a mesh

Im not a fan maybe better in black??? But think i will be spraying mine when i get round to it

Meant to be MOT compliant?, the way that the manual is worded may see some testers failing tinted lights because they can. The video demonstrated the lights but did not mention the reflectors which are every bit a requirement as are the lights.

The literature with the kit claims it is mot compliant , the kit is not the same as tinted lights at all don't forget they supply a headlamp kit as well if light levels were significantly diminished then they wouldn't be a big seller

Quite like the look of these, especially the ease of application. Have tried to look on the website but the faq page doesn't seem to be working, how easy is it to remove them once fitted? For the sake of £9ish I'll probably give them a go but don't want to be stuck with them if I don't like after a while and then have to potentially replace the whole units!

Just managed to get the faqs to work in IE. So answered my own question.

You just peel them off it's very easy

I'm all for cosmetic enhancement but one that reduces the brightness of my tail lights is a no-no.

They may look nice and bright on the video but they didn't show how much brighter they were before the film was fitted.

Ive ordered and it should be here on monday then im going to have a play about with it... Confide has not covered his whole light and it looks good so i might do something like that :) much easier then spraying because of how easy they are to modify or peel off and for under a tenner its got to be worth a go.

I think Confide masked them up and sprayed, much like jonny has done (think jonny got the technique from confide), rather than using the wrap.

Have ordered some for myself as well now so will see how it goes. As said less than a tenner so worth a go.

Yes, I masked them up and sprayed them.

Ordered some flyeyes tho and I will upload results later this day in my project-thread...

I think you should see this ;).

Once you've done it linky :)

Already done it, look closely at the rearlights, side-repeaters and DRL ;).

At work atm so just phone here...

Nice, love the new wheels,(did you add the green strip yourself?).

Is the mesh on the rears over the top of the spray tinting?

Hadn't thought about the DRLs or the repeaters, may have to try and use offcuts or just order some more and take the hit on a second p&p charge.

Both the black and green are custom-painted, colorcode-matching with the car :).

The mesh is used in a bit which isn't painted, it's a clear part in the paint-job.

I really like how the DRL turned out, but I have to redo the side-repeaters.

Haven't figured out how to remove them tho  .

Looks good mate... didnt think about the DRL's makes them blend in abit more :) ill have a look at doing that if there is any left over

Still waiting delivery thou :(

Just recieved my FlyEyesKit in the post. Emailed them on Monday about adding a third sheet to the order as I wanted to have enough to do the DRLs and side repeaters. Response only came in early hours of Tuesday from Marc at FlyEyes saying it would get despatched shortly and he would add an extra sheet for nothing!

Their response time to queries may be slow but can't knock their customer service. Just need a car to put the stuff on now!

I'm with Silver on this one. Alan (Bluevrs2) removed his tinted rear lenses after following me with Standard Lenses. The difference in brightnes was unbelievable. (Having said that, we don't want to blind anyone do we :giggle: )
