alloy wheel refurb

Recommended Posts

So I'm thinking about refurbing my standard alloys . But the quesion is what do I roll on in the mean time?

Can i literally stick any 16 inch 5x100 wheels on??

thanks in advance!

Pretty much, as long as it isn't a scooby or Toyota wheel. Oh, and it will need the same tyre profile too. You get 16" wheels commonly on mk4 golf but they come with higher profile tyres which will be too big for a fabia. :)

I think you can also stick 15" wheels over the standard front brakes.

How did you know I was looking at scooby alloys ;) Why is this?

Also DAMN my 312's ;)

Scooby wheels have the right 5x100 wheel holes but have a different centre bore so won't go over the end of the hubs

if you want a cheap option these'd bolt straight on and fit over your 312s

ah well ebay for you then my friend

anything mk4 golf, bora, mk4 ibiza, mk1 leon, mk1 fabia or octavia in 16" plus will do the trick as long as you have the right sized tyres

Well I left car early in morning on one day, at the wheel furb premises, and called back the following day, late afternoon and picked car up.

They removed wheels & tyres did the refurb replaced tyres, balanced wheels and refitted to car.

5 alloy wheels done just under £300all-in.

Needs tons of preparing lies the main ingredient.

BUT, having paint baked on gives a long protection life.

A good spray job will give a good shorter life finish.
