Loud Performance Exhaust!?

Featured Replies

hi guys i want an exhaust system for my furby vrs, but have no idea where to get one any ideas?

oh i want it to be loud hehe!!

Powerflow is your best bet if you want loud.

However a diesel 'loud' exhaust isnt the same as a sweet bark of a petrol one.

If you come to your senses both Milltek and Blueflame are very good and there are reviews int he appropriate section.

You will indeed struggle to get 'loud' out of a diesel. I opted for the Milltek as it offers a slightly deeper note, but also great performance gains.

So would a powerflow exhaust be louder than the milltek?

With Powerflow you can spec to how you want...if you want loud they'll probably go with a small rear silencer.

However cannot vouch for whether you'll get improved performance.

I am sure with a de-cat pipe there must be some small gains to be have...

I dont want loud, but I want a lovely sound :)

Decat should give you some gains.

Decatting does less on a turbo diesel, it will also fail emission tests after 3 years and therefore would not pass an MOT. Believe me, the Milltek system sounds nice, good burble, nice rasp under acceleration yet not boomy when cruising, the same with the Blueflame one, you will also get a 100 cel sports cat with downpipe, and tbh Powerflow are useless - very cheap stainless steel, and hardly any gains to be had, other than making you a nice and shiny tailpipe and sound like a toy racer in your Skoda  :o

Rubbish, diesels are not required by law to have a cat fitted at this moment in time. As long as its passes a particulate test its ok.

Rubbish  a bit OTT? Surely just a mistake? :(

Wasnt aimed directly at you mate, more the person who supplied you that duff information ;)

T'was someone on Briskoda, found it from another post so took it as a fact.

Petrol engines require a cat by law but I believe diesel are not so affected.

actually you re wrong no car is required to have cat aslong as it passes the emission tests but all caars fter 91 iirc need to be manufctured with one in the system (but dont have to keep them in the system after that) this info was found on the mot test website about a year ago when i was looking for info

So it's legally ok to run a car without a cat?

I find it stupid that cars have to have cats on manufactuer but then it's ok to remove them...might as well make them without out them and save a few hundred pounds in the process. What make it all the more ironic is that decatted cars can make it through emission tests.

yes it is legal :)

and yes its stupid its just like the sva for kit cars everything has to be safe to pass but s soon s it psses you can do what you want to it

Ummmm - not quite ;) A car is unroadworthy if it fails to pass an "on-the-spot" emissions test. However, due to the way the law works, you can decline an on-the-spot emissions test and you have 7 days to get it tested and prove it is roadworthy. Obviously, if you have a TDi, you have none of these worries :D

Chris

but cars can and do pass without cat so it is possible to run without cat and still be legal . even if you get pulled and roadside tested all they will do is isue a rectification notice and you will have to go to an mot test center to get it checked so you replace it before hand

Anyone know if an exhaust is produced for fabia tdi pd100?

(non standard)

Cheers

John

Allard fabia tdi pd151 (252.3 lb ft) FMIC

Anyway, back to the original thread.......

I should think milltek and blueflame will fit an exhaust to a PD100 and a decat pipe would probably make a standard exhaust louder.

Anyone want my vRS exhaust? My blueflame system makes it redundant...
