Light Sensor

Featured Replies

Is it possible for the sensor to be altered, my headlights seem to come on very easily, when passing under tree lined road for example, on - off - on - off, is this normal I ask.

Yes, it is possible to make an offset for light sensor to trigger lights earlier or later (brighter/darker). It can be done with VCDS. If you don't have software and cable you can contact someone in your region with cable and SW.

Thank you for your reply Sir,

Really??! I asked this a few years ago and the general consensus was it WAS possible, but the degree of change is so unbelievably minimal that it's not worth even plugging it in to change it!

One assumes this does the same as the option I have on my A4 to change the sensitivity in the onboard computer? If so then as blackspaven said, it doesn't really make that much difference between what is high, medium and low on my car.

It can be changed on the FL model (not sure about pre-FL)

Not worth it really as the sensor is not at the greatest position

Comes on early and goes off late.

Yes, pre-FL can be altered as well, there are different settings depending on what tint the glass is etc.

Mike

Ooh, have you any experience of how much it differs if you do alter it on a pre-fl Mike?? Personally, i'd happily stop it working and have the standard pre-set time staggered intermittant wipe, but that's not an option unfortunately.
