Ambrosia is Australian, it's Official

Featured Replies

Had a ride to Mike Holroyds today near Preston for him to work his magic on my car with his VCDS

He changed my car into Australian mode. G,day ,shrimps, Barby and all that

I now have the large MPH digital display on the maxi dot screen, the windows go up and down with the remote, both front and rear wipers have the tear drop wipe, if I jump on the brakes the hazard lights come on and the brake lights flash

Unable to activate the rear lights on with the DRL's. or the coming/leaving home lights

All in all a good day and a big thanks to Mike for his time and trouble AND he makes a mean coffee

Thanks Mike, very much appreciated.

Andy.

Done by the stealer Chris when I picked her up. It was them that turned off the windows/ remote function.

Last time I saw someone with VCDS, he asked me to turn cornering lights OFF as he'd had trouble with the po-po.

But they arnt illegal Jason

Perhaps your wife should have them Chris, on her VRs, she might not curb the alloys.

She knacked them in daylight Andy!!

I bet things could get very bright with the Fogs coming on automatically as you reverse.

Just a nice simple reverse park on the road into a space at night or into a drive and you go shining Fog lights at vehicles coming towards you.

Their full beam getting flashed at you, will probably brighten things up.

Doing it to a Police vehicle might not go down so well!

That setting is obviously one of the things that should get a ticket to anyone with it set for use in the UK.

Unnecessary use of Fog lights, & very anti-social to other road users.

Why that setting should not be enabled for use in Europe.

So all those with cornering Fogs should get a ticket also.

Didn't realise you looked in the mirror Alan, sorry :bandit:

Kidding, no i was not.

Do you understand what Fog lights are for and when they should be used?

('Cornering Fogs' Are they Fog lights or Driving lights?)

Here is a senario for you.

You, (thats you me or anybody) are driving along a road or street at night.

There on your side of the road, is a car facing you, maybe outside their house ready to reverse in.

Your side of the road, car stopped facing you & they have dipped beam on,

Happens all the time, Taxis, Dropping someone off, just people that dont even think,

what they dont even think is that dipped & facing the wrong why at the pavement side and the Dipped beam shines into the oncoming drivers eyes, no big deal tho.

Now same senario & the driver waiting to reverse puts their DSG into reverse ready to reverse once you are passed.

So now you have dipped bean shining at you and Fog lights, on your left as you pass them.

No your 'Automatic Fogs on when reversing setting' is Illegal in the UK, unless it was Foggy or poor visability.

Hazard & distraction to other drivers & does you not one bit of good.

Maybe you will be aware of it & not do a senario like i described,

maybe the good lady just will.

The feature only works if you have the Cornering Fogs activated. I've just spoken to Skoda UK Customer Services and it's Perfectly Legal

Headlights on the wrong side of the road are far worse than fogs.

Because fogs are not focused to shine at the side of the road from a distance that is now a driver's face...

Fogs may be bright, but they are not that bright. They are set lower and focused lower.

Exactly,

but somebody here thinks that the Dipped Beam can shine & because they have enabled something for when they are reversing,

So you are driving towards the Dipped lights you see them, & if the driver selects Reverse before you pass , Fogs come on. WTF is that about?

Dipped beam on the wrong side is wrong, Fogs coming on does not make it any better, or is it OK to also add to that with Fog lights even when it is not Foggy or adverse weather conditions.

Read & adhere to the HIghway Code or just look like another Boy Racer that drives all year with Fogs or Driving lights on.

But its only as you reverse.

You are like Mr Negativity.

Fog lights coming on (which are not as bright as the already on dipped lights on the wrong side of the road) would make me more aware that the driver is doing something by drawing my attention. Which if they are selecting reverse as I come past could mean they are about to swing the front of the vehicle out in front of me.

i'm not going to answer the way you seem to be going off on one near the end. Other than to say it only works when the lights are ON, ie, when it's DARK.

Get off your trip on my posts being negative.

I do not like Car d!cks with Fog lights on, never have unless it is in Fog.

Now i posted here about some stupid idea IMO about Someone activating an Australian Setting for Fog Lights to come on as your select Reverse.

If my opinion is negative, then yours is Positive to Fog lights being on when there is no Fog.

http://www.direct.go...ycode/dg_070302

Ignore 114 as you wish, i will continue to ignore it as i wish And i Just Show the Inconsiderate driver how bright my lights can go, & my spots. We can all be immature and flash full beam or display unnecessary lights.

Now get on with you being Positive and i will post what i want to post.
