Hi,

I have just purchased a cruise control stalk (1K0953513G) to retrofit to my Skoda Octavia Sport tdi but I have no idea how much or where to get it activated for a sensible price, can anyone help please?

Anything from 'a drink' to £20 I would say.

More than likely it would be 1/2hr labour charge.

I'm not a million miles from Cardiff (just north of Hereford) and have just done mine.

If you are up this way, it's a pretty quick job (assuming you have already fitted the stalk).

If you buy me a couple of bottles from the brewery over the road, I'll do it.

Thanks for the offer I'll keep that in mind if im up that way anytime soon, I need to fit the stalk first which im going to have a go at doing today as it's just arrived in the post, does it take long?

Would you know if having the cruise activated on the ECU with affect the remap I had done 2 yrs back, it won't put it back to standard will it?

Leave the car with battery disconnected for as long as you see fit for it to discharge.

Without wanting to start another debate (that's been done on a different thread) I left mind for one hour and all was fine.

It wasn't hard at all. Getting the airbag off was tricky (but easy to do once you have seen how it works) and getting the steering controller off (2.5mm drill bit down the small hole at the front to release the front clip).

Can't see why installing the CC should effect the remap, but I won't be putting my neck on the line as I don't know for sure.

Its a long way off but I am passing on the M4 on Friday 28th Sept, and back again to England on the following Thursday.

Where in Bridgend are you as i'm from Pencoed originally but now live in Llanharri? Once I've fitted it I'll let you know and hopefully we can arrange for you to activate it, let me know how much you charge, Matt.

What's your preference? I'll try and get the CC fitted by the weekend, will you be around? I'm on holiday until the 17th but not going anywhere so there's no mad rush if your busy!

I'm around most weekends. Kronenbourg or Stella would be nice, but I really don't mind!

This weekend I'm at home both days. How you want to do this, come round to my house, meet in the middle?

Also, my car has cruise control, so finding the coding should be easy enough too.

Thank you so much for your help tonight Dave your and absolute star!!!!! There you go lads, Cruise Control retrofitted and activated on my 2005/55 Octavia Sport tdi for £45, £30 for the stalk off ebay and £15 for a crate of Stella for the kind man mentioned, muchas grassy ass.
