Back before my little 1er beemer got robbed by the mafia, one of the mods I always wanted to do was the auto boot opener

Does anyone know a reason why it wouldnt work on a fabia 1 (or any other skoda)

You could probably do it but would require some self made brackets, servos and controller. Nothing off the shelf would fit.

My other halfs uncle had a Merc S500 with this style boot and his current Touareg V6 TDI also has it. Very cool.

Its just 2 springs and and some rubber washers, everything needed is listed in the bmw thread

Ah right. Sorry. Didn't watch the video and thought it was the powered boot that is motorised and can be opened and closed remotely.

nah its springs and rubber washers which increase the speed of the openning boot enough to raise the lid far enough to let the dampers take the load and then fully open
