VRS Holiday Snaps 2012

Featured Replies

Drove from the Netherlands to Northern Ireland then went on a little mini coastal tour around the top half of the island on some roads that I would almost call green lane quality at times, so it had to have a scrape down! I covered around 1500 miles on trip making it car unwashed for about 1900 miles but weather treated us very very well! Tank 1 averaged real world calculations 53mpg (drive from Holland cruise control on and car touching ground loaded to roof). Tank 2 49mpg (short runs and the wee tour). Tank 3 ongoing.

Here are a few snaps from the drive around County Donegal taken by my mate on trip.

Seemed to run into a GB Civic owners outing at the camp site we used on first night....... So had to park the mighty Skoda amongst the enemy! I did laugh in morning seeing the one in middle loading up car with his back seats down to fit his tent and rubbish in, obviously the Octy's boot swallowed everything whole!

Now having got back last night I decided to make the car clean again and here she is.

Full on awesome pics mate, when I come to replace my sport in a year or so I'll be getting a facelift Vrs like yours.

As much as I love my sport I can't wait!!!

I love your seats :D

Is that a spoiler on the back of that new shaped civic or some sort of bike/roof rack? :giggle:

Does look so good in Race Blue. Maybe I'll have another in the future.

I may sell mine next year when I move back to the UK to help fund a house (its either that or the bike)

Cracking pics. Not often you get a sunny day in Donegal. Off over in a few weeks to Tyrone but only for a long weekend so be flying :( Taking the vrs over next year for a few weeks. Where in Donegal did you go?

Around the coast as close to water as possible some roads were sub 15mph not VRS friendly at all. I just got my new bike and its killing me driving the car in good weather. Where in Tyrone are you headed?

Very nice indeed :hi:

Family are from strabane, so Donegal right on our door step. Had a good run around there last year when I was over in the fabia last year, visiting the likes of killybegs and up through the glenties, to malin head, so mixture of coastal and mountain roads and even though the fabia was a1.2tsi, didn't struggle at all. Will be doing the Antrim coast next year as I usually get as far as bushmills and get no further :)

Yea I carried on around it was far south of Donegal coast all the way around stopped at several places to hike and visited Malin head then down threw "Muff" and across the border and around County Londonderry coast and County Antrim stopping off to do some more hiking did Fair Head, Kinbane Head/Castle, Rathlin Island and Giants Causeway. Then back on around the coast the causeway coastal route is spectacular doesn't take long to drive and is considered one of the best driving roads in the world.

Some place in Donegal I cannot recall name of

p.s love the new skoda logo on your octavia, at present i dont think we can get these, i have managed to look through ETKA and in the uk i can only get the new CI for the up! ordered them in but they look too big!

Hope you had a good trip!

Lovely pics i'll be doing around 1000 miles next week going to Portsmouth to see family taking the car is still cheaper than a flight, i can get 400 miles from a tank of fuel, £75 to fill.

Great photos :sun:

cost me €78 for Shell V-Power 'Diesel' (the fuel Jesus would use) and I am getting 600miles+ on the long runs which is spot on for the blue bruiser especially how heavily loaded down she was on way over. Return leg of journey will bring her ever closer to the 10000 miles mark :( hit 8888 miles yesterday and was fuming I had reset trip to show 8888 888.8 but it triped over to 8889 888.8 within a handful of meters I messed it up gutted :(

The ones on mine are form the new CitiGo thing and ordered via a UK dealers. Front one is spot on for size (curved one) rear one (flat one) is same size as front just flat but is bigger than the recess that the old one sits into so it sits over top but has gone nowhere so far with double sided sticky 3M stuff.

Like the badge, looks good

Glad they've gone back to a retro design.

The colour coded grill really sets the race blue off. Fantastic photos and scenery (but I am biased)
