I am getting 2.0 CR Engine Octavia remapped. Is EGR mapping out recommended? What good does EGR mapping out do to performance? Along with mapping out is any change in plumbing required?

I can't comment directly on the CR engine. EGR design may be different. I've fully removed the EGR and the map is altered accordingly.

Probably no extra performance benefit, just saves it getting clogged up and prevents re-circulation from happening.

Another option is to have the use of the EGR system mapped out completely by the mapper. That's certainly viable, although again I can't comment directly about this on the CR unit.
