I have checked out my Ic and on the lower pipe there is some oily gunk on the pipe joint, does this mean ive a wee boost leak?

I can hear a slight whislte on boost and its a wee bit smokey and the mpg is a bit poor...... sound like a cause?

Is there a way of tightening this stupid clip or is it a case of buying new hoses?

its because under pressure the pipes expand, so when you aint boosting they are slightly loose, nothing to worry about

Pretty sure the solid metal collar wouldn't change shape the slightest bit under boost, which is the part that makes the join?

It doesn't change shape, but when boost is present the connection locks out tighter.
