I have read of this before and seems quite common. Not sure if it is normal though.

A whine in lower gears when slowing down can sometimes be a sign of worn bearings.

My 6 spd manual had this and it needed to be rebuilt recently.

I am on my second Superb 2 with DSG and can say that in all honesty I have not and m not experiencing this,

First was mated to a 2009 170CR Tdi in which I covered close on 60K miles

Current 2012 V6 in which I have covered 12.5K miles

Only had mine for 5 weeks, but not noticed any whine.

you can only just hear the whine, you need to have the radio off then i can just hear it making a noise on the overrun when you lift of the throttle

This is my first DSG so not 100% on the internals, but could just be the synchros. have you checked the fluid level and how many miles on the fluid?

My DSG is only 6 days old and no noises.

mine is only two years old with 20.000 miles on the clock have to see what skoda says i think.
