54reg Fab VRS 45k 1 owner - cheap as few issues

Featured Replies

We've decided to sell my Wife's red Fabia VRS. 54 plate,

owned from new. Bought as a bit of a trial to see if I could get on with a Diesel whilst I had my Impreza. Liked it so much I sold the Scoob and bought myself an Ibiza Cupra TDI.

It's done 45k miles and has a few niggles which I have listed below. MOT November, am happy to put it through MOT with a £40 deposit agreeing to take the car with a full MOT. Taxed till April 2013.

Good points

1 owner from New

No paint/accidents EVER

All original glass

All old MOTs

Mileage - last 4 years it's only done max 5k a year

Never been remapped

Both keys

Original bill of sale

Full service history - stamped until service last year which I did myself (have receipts for the bits - used a Pella

suction pump)

1k mile old tires all around (admittedly cheap Nankang NS-2s)

Newish clutch - biting point is quite low

New gear linkages

Lady owned - it's not had a hard life!

Non smoking household

Paintwork in surprisingly good nick

Not been driven hard for years...err depending on your

beliefs that could be bad??!!

No burns/tears to seats

Decent after market USB stereo

Never burns oil/no smoke

Brakes in great nick

Cambelt done 2010

Bad points

Heater/blower doesn't work at setting 1(think it needs a new resistor)

Check engine light on. Code reader states it's temp sensor, temp gauge is occasionally erratic

Rust bubbles on door (email for photos)

Rear door seals let damp in (cheap enough to do, but a couple of hours and I don't have the time)

Door check strap needs threadlocking as it comes loose

Handbrake needs tightening

Rear wash wipe tube has popped off

Cigarette lighter socket not working...haven't checked fuses

though.

Alloys could do with a refurb

The fitted mats are a bit grubby and could do with replacing

Phew, that's it. We were going to part ex it, but I would rather an enthusiast took it. With decent tires, uprated suspension and a remap, it could be an amazing car. The niggles shouldn't cost too much to fix if you do them yourself. I always laugh at adverts were people say this, why not just fix the problems and sell for more money?? Trouble is, I've an extremely stressful full time job, at university part time which is 2 hours away, 2 young kids and a wife that insists on me doing DIY...sadly I don't have the time or inclination. Plus my Ibiza has a few niggles which take priority!

So there you go, it's never going to fetch top money and am open to reasonable offers. Happy for any inspection, or even if you just want to check out the cheaper end of the market and come for a cuppa. I'm very enthusiastic about the 1.9 PD engines :) I am very confident there are no other problems - it still pulls like a train :)

I'm just outside Hull - postcode Hu12 8gu. For more info: 07919 203344. I work shifts, so if I don't answer then leave a message.

Yeah lol is it against forum rules to just ask for offers?

I honestly dont know how much its worth. If you fancy PMing me with an idea of how much would be realistic? It's awkward as its got issues but is low mileage
