Bleed Valve

Featured Replies

Can someone advise me if Bleed Valves are any good if set right with a boost gauge, Or is it better getting a remap?

Which one would provide most boost, and which is better. I know what they do in regards to tricking the actuator to letting the turbo have more power, but are they a safe option

Im new to having a Octavia Mk1 Vrs, and just looking at different options

Cheers, Drew

No

I'm not 100% sure of why but no-one on here uses them, I think they are suited to RS turbo and such.

Probably too many electronic bits on these engines it send it scatty.

Map it !!!

What type of map is suitable for a Vrs with 80k on the clock? I will say my self its a tidy Vrs "as i blow my own trumpet"..........

If Standard stage 1, shark is highly recommended on here, contact them on the sponsors bit or give them a ring. They are a friendly company and don't mind answering questions

if you over boost it, the car will go into limp mode. A remap will be best suited. Drop me or rob a pm if your after a shark remap, we can sort you such services :)

Gee

its the old school way of doing back in the day when things on cars didnt have lots of electronics monitoring things and trick ecu 's

all you will do it cause the car to run like a bag of rubbish as your fueling will be incorrect and will cause det !!! worst case blown engine !!!

if you decide you want a shark map shark hq is in mansfield with rolling road or you have w8 or myself down south who are shark performance dealers

Don't think about cheap remappers either go for a well known brand. Back street remaps are known to just involve winding the boost up and not doing much else which can result on the turbo or engine going bye bye lol

what is limp mode, as every so often when i give my vrs some beans it suddenly cuts out, it only tends to do this when the fuel tank is on quarter or about 60 miles, do you think my fuel regulator might be on the way out, as when accelarating its shifting the fuel away from the regulator?????

Does the engine light come on when it does it?

Could be your throttle body needing cleaning

i will check next time it happens, strange thing is it only happens when the fuel guage shows 60 miles and under

Not when cornering hard is it ? Could be fuel starvation

  • Author

I thought it might be fuel starvation too, but its just after giving it beans, my theroy is that the fuel is low and when accelarating its getting pushed to the back "fuel starvation"!!.. Do you think anEfi fuel regulator/pump will sort that?.

iv just been out in my Vrs it did it once but the lights did not come on it just struggled for a few seconds, but i have seen them come on before......

If the light has been on in the past it should have stored a code

no this sounds like either your 409 relay is playing silly buggers or your fuel pump is starting to die !!

need to get some logging done to see what is happening
