2001 Fabia 1.4 16v

Featured Replies

I had planned on buying a new Citigo, and had even placed an order for 1, only to be told at work, that i was having to take a pay cut due to loss of contract, which resulted in a major change of plans, and instead of the Citigo, i bought a 2001 Fabia 1.4 16v that i found on Ebay.

I spotted the car on an Ebay ad, and made them an offer of £450, which they accepted, so I grabbed a lift off my brother in law, and took a trip to Bradford and picked the car up. It came with 10 mths MoT and 11 mths Tax as well as FULL service history. I even managed to knock another £20 off the car when i got there, so i ended up with a tidy 2001 Fabia for £430.

Here's a pic of it the day after i got it.

It has a couple of faults which need rectifying, the exhaust is blowing from the flexi section at the front, the engine management light is on (probably due to blowing exhaust), and the ABS and Traction control lights are on.

A couple of days ago i changed the standard 14" steel rims for a set of 15" BBS Solitudes that i got from a guy on Retro Rides who was interested in a set of 14" BBS style 4x100 rims i had so a straight swap was done.

And thats how the car stands at the moment. I plan on giving the wheels a refurb, and painting the spokes, and then, funds permitting, i plan on fitting a set of coilovers and giving the car a good drop.

I did a rough photoshop to see how it would look (i think i did the wheels a little bigger than they are)

I'm planning on a less is more style, leaning towards a Euro style Fabia. I will try and keep this thread updated as and when funds allow.
