Forge intercooler

Featured Replies

Returned home from a second 280 mile round trip to Forge Motorsport to collect my car with their uprated intercooler which will be on the market at a later date.

The IC looks fantastic through the front lower grill, the car feels like it just wants to pull and pull right the way thru the rev range, on there testing it achieve a gain of 11bhp & 21 ftlb torque from the standard engine which is very noticeable when behind the wheel!

Can't thank the guys at Forge Motorsport enough for choosing my car for the development of this excellent bit of kit!!

Quality service, very friendly, respectable staff! Hope to be dealing with them in the future. :) A*

Good news mate, although they have pi55ed around for a while now with one for the fabia lol

Look forward to some pictures!

I've heard a few different stories about the problems they've had with the end tanks etc, all sorted now and hope to see it hit the market in a couple of months time :)

I'll upload a few pics when I get a chance to get near a computer mate

few pics ive managed to upload, not the best pictures but hey

What are the dimensions/volume increases etc.

Must admit, having FORGE in massive letters is a massive deterrent for me. I cant stand any "look at me" modifications on my car. Its embarassing and shouts MAXPOWER at everyone.

Like the look of it mate, looks spot on for size, but like Si said, whats the increase in size?

Also I would have it without the forge on it, but if it came like that free I would t complain... I tell a lie I'd spray it all black lol!

I will get the dimensions in the week sometime

The IC came with the forge sprayed on it already so I can't complain, I like everything about it, size and everything is perfect, it fits snug between the plastic cowlings either end of the cooler without any cutting which is a bonus too.

605mm width

150mm tall

70mm thick

6.35 litres

37% increase

Price?

..

605mm width

150mm tall

70mm thick

6.35 litres

37% increase

i make that 26% increase though. Just checked the Pace Products figures, it looks to be similar in size.

90mm tube width

145 stack height

550mm tube length

= 7.17 litres

= 35% increase

Stock IC Dims are

80mm Tube Width

96mm Stack Height

617mm Tube Length

= 4.73 litres

this was the last picture forge released of their Fabia vRS Intercooler from early this year

Theres an intercooler thread on here somewhere with all the sizes and volumes of all the intercoolers. ill try and dig it up, probably easier to have it all in one thread.

double post

They are the figures the guys at forge rang and gave me earlier on today

The apr unit looks nice!

Why does Apr make another One ? Didnt they had One Out allready ?

that wasnt an official APR LLc cooler, that was something that Harding performance developed in Australia and branded it an APR cooler because he is the APR Oz manager as well.

Maybe something worth passing onto forge. But I would say that the FORGE lettering needs to be placed more central when you see it through the honeycomb grille.

More central..it's slap bang in the middle :S

I think he means slightly higher

I think he means slightly higher

Correct sorry for not being 100% clear, just lifts it off the bottom of the grille and more vertically central.

anything about the release date and the price ?

also it would be awesome if it fits into left side steering cars ... ( not like the forge intake)

ahhh I see, no one ever really gets down level to see the IC so looking at it from a standing position it looks bob on

Havernt a clue on a release date or a price atm, your best would be contacting forge (that's if you are talking about the forge IC and not the apr unit)

  • 1 month later...

anything new about the Forge IC ?

talked to them like 8 weeks ago and they had some problems

they are having to get a different company to design the side of something like that, if you go to vagoc :http://www.vagoc.co.uk/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=88

or it was the forge page on here i read about it

by the time half of the mods come out for this car it'll be time to get a new one!

Think I'll go with something thats got a bit support already instead next time... Something, big and probably japanese or australian...
